本寺谨在2019年5月1日,举行一日一夜八关斋戒。有意者即可亲临本寺索取表格参加。

衣装:舒适衬衫和长裤-颜色无限制,请携带海青(如有)。空调设施。

以下稍微介绍:何谓八关斋戒?

八关斋戒,是佛陀为在家弟子所制定的,目的是为了要让在家的男女二众,能學習出家人的生活。

八关斋戒條如下:

  • 不殺生:
    不故意殺害有生命的眾生。
     
  • 不偷盜:
    對於一切財物,乃至一草一木,非自己所有而取,或是不論用任何手段,如騙取、強奪、霸佔等,皆算是偷盜。
     
  • 不淫欲:
    凡與男女兩身相和合,皆稱為婬。受八關齋戒時,要禁止正婬,也就是正當的夫妻關係也不可以。
     
  • 不妄語:
    不說謊、搬弄是非、惡口罵人,危害到他人。
     
  • 不飲酒:
    不喝酒,乃至於不勸人喝酒、不入酒家、不思念飲酒。
     
  • 不著香花鬘不香油塗身及不歌舞倡伎不往觀聽:
    廣泛來說,凡脂粉、香水、香膏、口紅、耳環,包含一切飾品、色彩鮮艷的衣服,及跳舞、賭博等,皆不可以。
     
  • 不坐臥高廣大床:
    舒適柔軟的高廣臥床,會讓人心生淫念,所以不適合坐臥。
     
  • 不非時食:
    即過了日中之後,除了喝水,不再吃任何食物。

 

受戒功德: 受八關齋戒期間為一日一夜,過了這時段,如果還想繼續受,就必須再舉行儀式。受持八關齋戒,為修定修慧,又能懺罪、消災、增褔、增慧。若能於每月六齋日(每月的八日、十四日、十五日、二十三日、以及月底的最後兩天)受持,所得褔德不可思議。雖然只有一日一夜,但如果能受持清淨,其功德之大,是不可限量的。《無量壽經》云:「齋戒清淨一日一夜,勝在無量壽國為善百歲。」《優婆塞戒經》云:「受持八關齋戒,除五逆罪,其他一切罪,悉皆消滅。」又說:「若能如是清淨,受持八關齋戒者,是人則得無量果報至無上樂。」佛陀為了讓在家居士也有機會種出家善根,特別制定此戒,讓後世眾生能因持戒而獲得安樂。

An Introduction of THe Eight Precepts

The precepts in Buddhism are rather moral guidelines to go by so that one may maintain a healthy practice for oneself and for not harming others. As one develops in the Dhamma, one finds that the Precepts grounds your practice and that one cannot waver and purposely break any of the Precepts.

In following these Precepts one gradually develops a respect for the life of others, for their property, their dignity, their right to know the truth and a respect for the clarity of one’s own mind. The Buddha called the practice of these Precepts a consideration to others which creates love and respect and which is conducive to helpfulness, non-dispute, harmony and unity (A.III,287).

On another occasion he called virtue freedom-giving and conducive to concentration (A.III,132). He also mentioned that one of the most important benefits of practicing the Precepts is that one experiences the happiness of being blameless (D.I,70).

The Eight Precepts are typically also practiced during intensive meditation retreats of one day or longer. Some lay Buddhists take the Eight Precepts as a training lifestyle for the duration of their life in a sort of semi-monastic life.

The Eight Precepts in Pali and English.

1. Panatipata veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami

  • I undertake the precept to refrain from destroying living creatures.

2. Adinnadana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami

  • I undertake the precept to refrain from taking that which is not given.

3. Abrahmacariya veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami

  • I undertake the precept to refrain from sexual activity.

4. Musavada veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami

  • I undertake the precept to refrain from incorrect speech.

5. Suramerayamajja pamadatthana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami

  • I undertake the precept to refrain from intoxicating drinks and drugs which lead to carelessness.

6. Vikalabhojana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami

  • I undertake the precept to refrain from eating at the forbidden time (i.e., after noon).

7. Nacca-gita-vadita-visukkadassana mala-gandha-vilepana-dharana-mandana-vibhusanathana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami

  • I undertake the precept to refrain from dancing, singing, music, going to see entertainments, wearing garlands, using perfumes, and beautifying the body with cosmetics.

8. Uccasayana-mahasayana veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami

  • I undertake the precept to refrain from lying on a high or luxurious sleeping place.
