Ven. Thubten Chodron will launch and speak on one of her newest books published by Wisdom Publications, Practical Ethics and Profound Emptiness: A Commentary on Nagarjuna’s “Precious Garland of Advice for a King.” The book is a commentary by eminent scholar and former Abbot of Sera Jey monastery, Khensur Jampa Tegchok, on “Precious Garland of Advice for a King,” a 500-verse poem by Indian sage Nagarjuna. Beginning with the importance of keeping good ethical conduct as the foundation of our spiritual practice, the poem goes on to show the king—and all of us—how to practice in our daily lives to cultivate wisdom and the causes for full awakening.
